Khon Kaen University Launches "KKU CORE-C" System, Integrates OBE and Generative AI for Curriculum Advancement

Khon Kaen University (KKU) has taken a significant step towards modernizing its educational offerings with the launch of "KKU CORE-C," a comprehensive curriculum management system, alongside a workshop focused on integrating Outcome-Based Education (OBE) with Generative AI. The initiatives were unveiled on May 30, 2025, at the Pullman Khon Kaen Raja Orchid Hotel.

The morning session featured the official launch of the KKU CORE-C Curriculum system. This central platform, developed through extensive university investment of time and resources, is designed to support the entire lifecycle of curriculum management. Its capabilities include facilitating proposals for new academic programs, structuring curricula in line with OBE principles, and efficiently recording all course data within a sophisticated yet comprehensive system.

The workshop, titled "Outcome-Based Education Curriculum Implementation with Generative AI: Bridging Design and Practice," was organized by KKU's Office of Academic Administration and Development. Its primary objective is to elevate the quality of the university's curricula to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving economic, social, and technological landscape of the digital era. The university aims to drive OBE implementation while leveraging Generative AI to systematically enhance curriculum design, development, and evaluation, thereby ensuring graduates possess relevant, up-to-date skills and knowledge.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the opening ceremony. Asst. Prof. Dr. Denpong Soodphakdee, Vice President for Education and Digital, delivered a report on the project's significance and objectives.

Faculty members from the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University (IS KKU), along with other curriculum-responsible staff, actively participated in the event. Following the workshop, IS KKU expressed their commitment to utilizing the acquired knowledge and tools to develop new, modern curricula that align with labor market needs and effectively attract prospective students. This initiative marks another important advancement for Khon Kaen University in its ongoing efforts to develop education for the future.
