Phayak NKC Club Ready! Volunteer Rally to Plan for Flood Response

July 24, 2025 – Advisors from the Phayak NKC Club., along with student volunteers from the club, participated in an urgent flood preparedness effort to assist personnel of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University (ISKKU). The focus was on moving belongings to higher ground and preparing sandbags to form barriers against the water.

The primary objective of this field visit was to enhance preparedness and mitigate potential damage from sudden flooding. Initial efforts focused on assisting personnel from ISKKU who might be affected, by relocating equipment and valuable assets to safer, higher ground based on projected water levels. These precautionary measures were taken to help prevent damage in the Ban Pa Kho area and the Hor Kong community.

Additionally, some students from ISKKU also went to various surveillance points in the Nong Khai Municipality area. There, they joined municipal officials and local volunteers in filling sandbags. These sandbags will be used as barriers to prevent water from overflowing into buildings, homes, and other areas along the Mekong River.

This volunteer activity not only serves as preparation for natural disasters but also reflects the sacrifice and cooperation among faculty members, staff, students, and local residents. They are ready to extend a helping hand and look after one another during times of crisis, fostering strength and unity in responding to unexpected situations.
