Upskilling in Fitness: KKU's Sports and Exercise Science Program, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Prepares Students for the Health Workforce.
The Sports Science, Innovation and Health Program, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, continues to elevate student potential through proactive initiatives by organizing the Aerobic Dance Training Program for Academic Year 2026. The program focuses on developing professional skills and cultivating professional-level dance instructor leadership to meet the growing demands of today's health and fitness business sector.
The program was honored by the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Nattaphon Traiperm, Chair of the Sports Science, Innovation and Health Program, who presided over the opening ceremony and delivered words of guidance to the students. He emphasized the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, noting that aerobic instruction and exercise class leadership skills represent core competencies for sports science professionals that will provide a competitive advantage in the job market.
A highlight of the program was the participation of Mr. Jatuphon Rattanapanya, a distinguished alumnus with direct hands-on experience in the fitness industry, who returned to share his expertise as a guest speaker. The training was divided into two intensive sessions:
Session One: Lecture and hands-on practice on "Principles of Leading Indoor Fitness Classes"
Focused on body alignment, hand signal usage, music beat counting, song selection for different class formats, and the psychology of managing participants in an enclosed class environment.
Session Two: Hands-on practice on "Leading Popular Fitness Classes"
Provided students the opportunity to lead actual classes in currently trending styles popular at fitness centers, giving them real-world exposure to the practical work of class instruction.
The training brought together a total of 35 third- and fourth-year students from the Sports Science, Innovation and Health Program—students who are preparing for professional internships and entering the workforce.
Throughout the training, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and high energy, with students showing great interest and actively participating in the practical exercises. The hands-on techniques and real-world insights shared by their experienced alumnus not only helped students develop their physical skills but also inspired them for their future careers.
The Sports Science, Innovation and Health Program, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, remains committed to continuously organizing student development activities aimed at producing graduates equipped with comprehensive knowledge, innovation, and outstanding practical skills that meet the needs of society and consumers in the current era.
