Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, Partners with Nong Khai Provincial Education Office to Drive Local Policies for Underprivileged Children and Digital Workforce Development
July 27, 2026 Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies at Khon Kaen University continued its mission to provide academic services and drive local policy development. Led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Natthayanee Chantaplaboon, Vice Dean of the Faculty, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phatthanan Taladsup, Head of the Social Sciences Program, the team served as key speakers at a provincial workshop aimed at elevating educational management for underprivileged children and developing the workforce for the digital era. The event was held at the Kasalong Meeting Room, Panlaan Boutique Resort, Mueang District, Nong Khai Province.
The workshop was organized by the Policy and Planning Group of the Nong Khai Provincial Education Office. It focused on two main topics: "Drafting Policy Proposals for the Educational Management of Underprivileged Children in Nong Khai Province" and "Formulating Strategies for Workforce Production and Development to Meet Labor Market Demands for Digital Era Careers in Nong Khai Province." The primary objective of this brainstorming session was to reduce educational inequality and set a clear direction for preparing human resources to adapt to the rapidly changing modern world.
Playing a crucial role as a leading higher education institution dedicated to social development, the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies actively contributed to the event. Asst. Prof. Dr. Natthayani Chanthaphalabun and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phattanan Taladsap integrated their academic expertise and experience with the local context, transferring vital knowledge to the participants through interactive workshop processes. Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wullapa Wongsinlatam, Vice Dean of the Faculty, along with an advisory committee, attended as close observers. This presence vividly reflected the Faculty's strong commitment to tangibly driving educational advancement in Nong Khai Province.
The event gathered over 50 attendees, encompassing educational executives and personnel. Participants included heads of government offices, administrators of educational agencies, school directors, teachers, and representatives from related organizations, led by Mr. Somkid Srithon, Deputy Director of the Nong Khai Provincial Education Office. The workshop also featured collaborative synergy with distinguished guest speakers from the Regional Education Office No. 10, namely Ms. Namfon Akhad, Ms. Sawitree Khamphiwphan, and Ms. Laddawan Srihabut, as well as Mr. Kittiphop Uthaiphan from the Nong Khai Provincial Education Office.
Following this constructive meeting, the faculty members from the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies at KKU, alongside network partners, will analyze the gathered insights. This data will be synthesized to formulate provincial-level "Policy Proposals" and "Strategic Plans." The ultimate goal is to translate these frameworks into practical implementation, ensuring educational equality for underprivileged children and sustainably elevating the potential of Nong Khai workforce to thrive in the digital era labor market.
