ISKKU's Technology Clinic Supports Grassroots Economy at the Regional Economic-Driving Blue Flag Fair in Udon Thani.

The Technology Clinic of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University (ISKKU), deployed its team to provide academic services and transfer technology to the community at the "Regional Economic-Driving Blue Flag Fair," held from July 31 to August 2, 2026 at Thung Si Mueang Park, Udon Thani Province. The initiative applied scientific knowledge and innovation to organize vocational training aimed at reducing expenses and increasing income for the public, while also opening a promotional booth for educational programs to create educational opportunities and develop human capital potential at the regional level.

This participation stemmed from a collaboration between the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (OPS-MHESI) and the Ministry of Commerce, in implementing the "Blue Flag Budget-Friendly Prices to Reduce Cost of Living" and "Regional Economic-Driving Blue Flag Fair" projects. These initiatives aim to leverage research outcomes, technology, and innovation from higher education institutions to add value to products and services offered by SMEs and farmers, as well as to promote the utilization of intellectual property to strengthen the grassroots economy sustainably. In this regard, OPS-MHESI invited the Technology Clinic of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, as an academic network partner, to participate in organizing workshops and setting up an exhibition booth at the event.

Throughout the three-day event, the atmosphere received an excellent response. The Technology Clinic conducted a hands-on workshop on making household dish-washing liquid, By Mr. Suphira Vorasaen, Science Officer, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, emphasizing a simple, safe, and low-cost production process to enable participants to reduce their daily living expenses or develop it further as a supplementary income-generating occupation in the future. More than 400 members of the public, farmers, and interested individuals attended the knowledge transfer session. Additionally, the team distributed over 1,000 bottles of high-quality dish-washing liquid produced during the event to participants for trial use at home.

Furthermore, the Technology Clinic set up an information corner promoting the academic programs of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University (ISKKU), to provide educational guidance for prospective students. This was supported by comprehensive promotional materials provided by ISKKU's Academic Affairs and Student Development Division, which attracted continuous interest and inquiries from students, parents, and the general public.
