Khon Kaen University Equips Youth with Digital Skills Through "COM CAMP", Focusing on AI and Canva

August 10, 2026 – Reaffirming its commitment to academic community service, the Computer Science and Information Technology Program, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University  hosted the "COM CAMP" The initiative, aimed at promoting and enhancing information technology skills among young people, took place at Ban Mak Khaeng School in Udon Thani Province and drew an overwhelming turnout of over 160 enthusiastic students.

The camp was thoughtfully designed to offer students fresh, hands-on learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom setting. Through practical workshops focusing on current technology trends, participants gained valuable skills that they can apply to their studies and future creative endeavors.

During the event, students engaged in two main educational and fun-filled learning stations:

1. AI (Artificial Intelligence) Station: Staying Ahead of Tech Trends This station broadened students' horizons by introducing them to the world of Artificial Intelligence. University students and guest speakers guided participants through "AI Video Generation"—a highly sought-after skill in today's digital landscape. Furthermore, students learned how to leverage AI as a "smart assistant" for effective learning, accurate research, and efficient task management.

2. Canva Station: Unleashing Creativity for Future Digital Designers Focused on developing digital media creation skills, this station taught professional Canva usage. Participants learned everything from basic design principles and layout composition to creating their own visually striking "Portfolios." They also explored basic "Website" design, paving the way for modern online presentations.

The "COM CAMP" project went beyond merely transferring computer knowledge; it served as a platform to inspire, spark creativity, and bridge the digital divide among youth. The Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies at Khon Kaen University remains dedicated to continuously organizing such impactful activities. Through these efforts, the faculty aims to drive educational advancement and unlock the potential of Thai youth, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges of the 21st-century world.
