ISKKU ECE Research Retreat 2026: Driving Research, Building Networks, and Fostering Innovation.

Between August 13–15, 2026, the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) International Program, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies at Khon Kaen University, organized the "ECE Research Retreat 2026" at Chiang Khan River Mountain Resort in Loei Province. Held under the theme “Elevating Research, Building Networks, and Igniting Creative Innovation,” the event aimed to provide a dynamic platform for faculty members and graduate students to exchange knowledge, monitor research progress, and foster collaborations to develop practical and innovative research outcomes.

A major focus of the retreat was tracking the progress of ongoing research. Graduate students were given the opportunity to present their research concepts, current challenges, and preliminary results. The interactive sessions allowed students to meet closely with their academic advisors and program faculty to discuss guidelines and refine their research methodologies, ensuring greater clarity and effectiveness in their work.

Furthermore, the retreat featured a special knowledge-sharing session on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and academic writing. The discussions covered utilizing AI tools for literature review, data synthesis, thought organization, data analysis, and supporting the writing and presentation processes. Crucially, the session strongly emphasized the appropriate use of AI, reminding participants to strictly adhere to academic ethics, ensure data accuracy, provide proper citations, and maintain the researcher's fundamental role in verifying and taking responsibility for their own work.

Overall, the "ECE Research Retreat 2026" served as an inspiring space for faculty and graduate students to exchange valuable experiences, academic perspectives, and practical techniques for academic publication.
