Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, KKU Organizes "Future Ready" Program to Enhance Student Skills, Preparing Them for the Modern Workforce
The Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, organized the "Future Ready: Developing Skills for the Modern Workforce" program on August 17, 2026, at Meeting Room NK 2217, Learning and Practice Building 1, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University. The program aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills necessary for working in the present and future eras, while preparing students to confidently and effectively enter the job market.
For this occasion, Lecturer Chakkrawan Kleebbua, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, presided as the guest of honor and delivered the opening remarks. He emphasized the importance of preparing students in every dimension—including knowledge, professional skills, communication skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability—so that students can effectively respond to changes in the labor market and the evolving demands of organizations in the future.
The program was honored to have Kru Mon Natcha Khongnasiri as the guest speaker, who shared knowledge and experience through lectures and workshops designed to connect with real-world work situations. The sessions focused on building an understanding of the skills that organizations seek, while also providing students with opportunities to practice and develop skills that can be applied in real life.
This program was organized in the context of a rapidly changing world of work, driven by technological advancement, the digital economy, and increasingly diverse work formats. As a result, organizations today no longer consider only academic knowledge or professional skills, but also place great importance on soft skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, on-the-spot problem-solving, creativity, and the ability to adapt to modern work contexts.
Recognizing the importance of this preparation, the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies organized the Future Ready program to provide students with knowledge, concepts, and experience from experts with real-world professional backgrounds. The program also allowed faculty members and staff to gain insight into future skill trends, which can be used as a guideline for promoting and developing student potential in a targeted manner.
Program Activities
The program began with Session 1: The Industry Demands, under the topic "Deep Dive into the Skills Organizations Need from 2025 Onward." This session focused on building an understanding of the skills that the labor market values, while promoting mindset adjustment and adaptability skills to prepare students for entering the world of work.
This was followed by Session 2: Practical Soft Skills – Effective Communication & Critical Thinking Workshop, which aimed to develop effective communication skills, presentation techniques, critical thinking, and on-the-spot problem-solving. Students participated in hands-on activities to build understanding and apply these skills to real-life situations.
In the afternoon, Session 3: Your Career Portfolio was held under the topic "Creating a Resume/Portfolio That Appeals to Recruiters." This session emphasized hands-on practice in creating and improving personal information to be more compelling, reflecting one's strengths, experience, and potential as an applicant, in order to increase job application opportunities and make a strong impression on recruiters.
The program also included Session 4: Q&A & Mock Interview Highlights, which gave students the opportunity to ask questions related to job applications, interviews, and various concerns, while learning key techniques for answering interview questions. This helped build students' confidence and enabled them to systematically prepare for the recruitment process.
Core Skills Development
The Future Ready program placed significant emphasis on developing core skills, including critical thinking and problem-solving, communication skills, and flexibility and adaptability—all of which are essential skills for living and working in an ever-changing environment.
This program represents another important initiative by the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, in inspiring students, helping them identify pathways for self-development, and preparing them before entering the labor market. It also helps build a connection between the educational institution and the needs of the organizational sector, aiming to develop graduates who possess knowledge, skills, and adaptability, enabling them to leverage their potential toward a quality career path in the future.
