Interdisciplinary Tourism Students Khon Kaen University Gain Real-World Experience at ISANCF 2026, Elevating Skills to Become Professional Event Organizers
On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, third-year students from the Tourism and Hospitality Innovation program, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University (KKU), participated in the Isan Creative Festival 2026 to gain direct experience in creative event management.
Led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jaturaporn Sihabut, the instructor of the "Creative Festival and Event Management" course, the field trip was organized under the Creative Event Project. The initiative is a core part of the curriculum aimed at developing students' professional competencies through real-world exposure.
In the morning, the students attended an academic seminar titled "PLA-RA FOR THE FUTURE: From Local Fermentation to Global Innovation" hosted at the Ad Lib Khon Kaen Hotel. The forum served as a platform for exchanging knowledge on Thai culinary identity, innovation, and the creative economy. This session allowed students to simultaneously learn about academic event management, event administration, and creative industry development within a single day.
During the afternoon session, the students explored the activities of the Isan Creative Festival 2026 at TCDC Khon Kaen. They were honored to be welcomed by Ms. Jintana Chuphromwong, Senior Creative City Strategist from the Creative Economy Agency (CEA). Ms. Jintana shared her extensive knowledge and practical experiences in organizing creative events, offering the students valuable guidance on preparing themselves to become Professional Event Organizers in the creative and event industry.
This immersive field trip reflects the program's teaching philosophy, which emphasizes bridging classroom theories with practical, real-world execution. By encouraging students to learn directly from industry experts, professional networks, and national-level festivals, the university aims to foster essential skills in creative thinking, strategic planning, management, and collaborative networking—the core competencies required for future professional event organizers.
