The Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, through its Academic Administration, Research and Learner Development Division, recognizing the importance of academic services that generate societal benefits, organized a hands-on training workshop entitled "Smart ROI & SROI: Measuring Returns and Social Value for Sustainable Development" during June 11–12, 2026, at the INNOVATION PARK Room, Building 2 (Integrated Learning and Practice Building). The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Wullapa Wongsilatam, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, who officially welcomed participants and declared the workshop open.

The primary objectives of this workshop were to enhance staff competencies and build a solid understanding of Return on Investment (ROI) and Social Return on Investment (SROI) — both of which serve as critical mechanisms in modern management. Participants were expected to be able to apply these principles to assess operational efficiency, compare investment value, and analyze the positive economic, social, and environmental impacts of various projects, thereby enabling them to make more informed decisions and plan future initiatives with greater effectiveness.

The training content was thoughtfully designed to cover both theoretical foundations and practical applications. Topics ranged from an introduction to the concepts of ROI and SROI, theories of change, standard processes and calculation formulas, to an analysis of challenges and key considerations. In-depth sessions were also dedicated to practical implementation, including the development of working frameworks and the design and use of evaluation tools, equipping participants to adapt their newly acquired knowledge to their own professional contexts.

The knowledge transfer sessions were delivered by subject-matter experts, namely Assistant Professor Dr. Jakrapun Suksawat and Assistant Professor Dr. Siwaporn Fongtong, both affiliated with the Faculty of Economics, Khon Kaen University, who graciously served as lecturers and consultants throughout the event. This workshop marks yet another significant step forward for the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, in advancing its academic service mission and cultivating high-quality personnel to support the country's sustainable development goals.                                                         Translate By Cluade.
