KKU Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies Hosts Workshop on AUN-QA V4.0 Program Management to Elevate Educational Quality to International Standards

เป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (SDGs): SDG 4SDG 17

Khon Kaen — The Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies (FIS) at Khon Kaen University (KKU) is organizing the Knowledge Sharing Project on Curriculum Management under the AUN-QA Version 4.0 Criteria on May 12, 2026, at the Innovation Room, 1st Floor, Classroom and Practical Building 2. The event aims to enhance understanding, facilitate the sharing of best practices, and prepare both Bachelor’s and Graduate programs for quality assurance assessments aligned with international standards.

Rationale and Significance

Khon Kaen University places significant emphasis on advancing curriculum quality to meet international standards and maintain competitiveness within the Thai and ASEAN higher education landscape. This commitment is formalized under the KKU Internal Quality Assurance Guidelines for Curricula (Announcement No. 1375/2568), which mandates systematic reporting, Gap Analysis, and the development of Improvement Plans for every program.

The AUN-QA Version 4.0 criteria serve as an internationally recognized framework, focusing on holistic quality development across all dimensions of education, including Learning Outcomes, curriculum design, teaching and learning management, assessment, faculty quality, student support, and resource management.

Version 4.0 aligns with contemporary educational shifts, prioritizing Outcome-Based Education (OBE), the integration of digital skills, sustainability, global citizenship, creating responsive learning experiences, and continuously using stakeholder feedback for improvement. Challenges for many programs include consistently interpreting the criteria, effectively linking Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) with Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), defining performance-based assessment methods, and concretely applying assessment findings for measurable enhancement.

Establishing a platform for inter-program exchange is crucial, allowing program administrators to share successful strategies, learn from case studies, and collaboratively analyze problems tailored to their specific contexts.

Program Schedule and Format

The project is divided into two main sessions, facilitating focused discussion between different academic levels:

🎓 Morning Session (09:00 – 12:00): Undergraduate Programs Program leaders will engage in discussions, share concerns, and present challenges encountered in Criterion 1–4 of AUN-QA V4.0 (each program presenting 1 issue). They will also share proven best practices (if available). (Presentation time limit: 5 minutes per program)

🎓 Afternoon Session (13:30 – 16:30): Graduate Programs This session mirrors the morning activities, focusing on problem-solving and sharing best practices related to Criterion 1–4 tailored for graduate-level curriculum management. (Presentation time limit: 5 minutes per program)

Both sessions will be facilitated by a panel of six distinguished resource persons:
