KKU Interdisciplinary Faculty Launches “More Care” Program to Boost Students’ Mental Resilience and Crisis Recovery Skills
On May 25, 2026, the Academic Administration, Research, and Student Development Section of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies took a major step forward in its systematic student well-being strategy by launching the workshop “More Care: Strengthening Mental Resilience Across 3 Trimesters (Phase 1)” at the Innovation Park, Lecture and Laboratory Building 2. This initiative aims to equip students with essential life skills and coping mechanisms, preparing them to adapt effectively to university life while healing and preventing stress, loneliness, and discouragement caused by academic pressure, interpersonal relationships, and the challenges of moving away from home.
The opening ceremony was honored by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nattayanee Chantapalabroon and Ajarn Jakkawan Kleebbua, Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, who co-presided over the event and welcomed the participants. They emphasized the faculty’s commitment to developing crucial 21st-century skills alongside "EGGs" skills to foster empathy and reduce social conflict.
The main activities were facilitated by Ms. Jirathorn Buenglee, the faculty’s staff psychologist, who utilized an integrated learning approach through small-group workshops divided into 4 core modules: Module 1: Sense of Self (activities focused on "The Path to Feeling Good" and identifying role models to build self-esteem); Module 2: Sense of Connection (learning about self-forgiveness and forgiving others); Module 3: Sense of Control (training in emotional regulation and management skills); and Module 4: Sense of Purpose (practicing cognitive processes and setting both short-term and long-term life goals).
This project serves as a vital mechanism under the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies' Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Action Plan, directly aligning with Strategy 1: Education Transformation and Strategy 6: Systematic Creation of Student Well-being (Good Health & Well-being) to increase the percentage of students facing mental health challenges who receive comprehensive, effective, and sustainable care.
